Yuri's Night L.A. 2022
What happens when you mash together a bunch of engineers, space nerds (I use that endearingly), scifi fans, artists, makers, and robots? Yuri’s Night L.A. takes place at the California Science Center with much of the party happening around and under Endeavor. The SSME sits in a corner just behind and to the left of the orbiter.
For Yuri’s Night L.A. 2022 we had the opportunity to projection map one of the Aerojet Rocketdyne RS-25 Space Shuttle Main Engines (SSME) that sits in the pavilion next to the Endeavor orbiter. We dreamed up some fun, quirky, and eccentric visuals that would play throughout the night along with the soundtrack in the room.
Yuri’s Night 2022 was a JEDI Space. (Just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive) and with that came a color palette of blue, purple, pink, and yellow. Using that palette, specific geometry, and graphic elements highlighting the work of the Shuttle program we had delightful collection of material to playback…much of it reacting to the audio (provided by DR CHRISPY, Viktoria Modesta, NEY x MISS MAK, Tara Brooks and Devon James)
